According to a report released on October 19, the owner of Eco Concept and English-born Chinese Li Qu agreed on Thursday to acquire LDV, a British manufacturer of light commercial vehicles. Specific financial terms have not been announced.
Eco Concept Company stated that LDV will still focus on the production of light commercial vehicles in the future, but the scale of production will be reduced. Li Qu said that this acquisition has been supported by many international auto manufacturers and distributors. In the future, LDV will probably focus on China-related businesses.
Li Qu was an investment advisor to the British Phoenix Group. When Phoenix Holdings’ Rover Motors faced a bankruptcy takeover, SAIC and Brilliance had joined the ranks of the purchaser of this foreign investment with her efforts. SAIC Motor finally acquired Rover Motors.
