IBM, the world's largest information technology and business solution company, will join hands with Hanlin Group to upgrade the air-conditioning system of the IBM China System Center data room in Beijing and build an air-conditioning energy-saving test platform. Air-conditioning system energy-saving transformation will use Hanlin magnetic suspension oil-free centrifugal chiller equipped with Danfoss Turbocor magneto-magnetic levitation oil-free inverter compressor. The system center data room old air-conditioning adopts other brands of air-cooled screw chillers. After the energy-saving renovation is completed, a series of energy-saving configurations such as the integration and closed cooling system of Hanlin Maglev Co., Ltd., FREECOOLING, and variable frequency control are used to greatly reduce system energy consumption. It is expected that the PUE of the data center can be lower than 1.3 at that time. At the same time, the energy-saving test platform will collect chiller operation data in real-time during the operation of the air-conditioning system, calculate and enter the IBM energy-saving database, and all data collection and analysis will be displayed at the IBM Exhibition Center. This means that after the energy-saving renovation is completed, the entire data room air-conditioning system will become a highly integrated and highly intelligent system. Hanlin Magnetic Levitation Oil-free Centrifugal Unit adopts Danfoss Turbocor magneto-magnetic levitation oil-free variable frequency compressor. Its magnetic suspension bearing achieves 100% oil-free operation, with integrated variable frequency drive control technology, so that the unit can always maintain the industry under high-strength and variable load conditions. Excellent full-load and part-load efficiency, compared with ordinary units, the operating efficiency can be increased by more than 40%. The compressor's unique 30-second power failure resumes quick start, ensuring stable and safe operation of the unit. There are three types of compressors, TT, VTT, and TG, to meet the different requirements from refrigerant to refrigerant. All models are of the same volume and weight in the industry, multiple cooling capacity, single or multiple units. Taiwan compressors can be connected in parallel, and can be applied flexibly to air-cooled, water-cooled and modular water-cooled units, providing ample possibilities for future expansion of data center systems. As the first data center energy-saving renovation project in China, this technology was completed in 2011 at the Hainan Telecom Hub Building, and the 40% energy-saving effect is stunning in the industry. In the following years, several OEMs successfully passed the Danfoss magnetic levitation technology winning bid data center project, and used a specific case to prove how this technology can take into account the special requirements of the data center air conditioning system for energy efficiency, stability, and expansion.
