Installation notes for mass flow meters

The mass flow meter is a meter that accurately measures the gas flow. The measured value is not misaligned due to fluctuations in temperature or pressure. Temperature pressure compensation is not required. The mass flow meter directly measures the mass flow rate of the medium passing through the flow meter. Measuring the density of the medium and indirectly measuring the temperature of the medium, since the transmitter is a smart meter with the single chip as the core, a dozen parameters can be derived for the user according to the above three basic quantities.
Installation notes for mass flow meters
1. The mass flowmeter works on the principle of vibration, and in the process of its operation, electromagnetic technology is used to perform vibration excitation, torsion angle detection and detection signal processing. Therefore, the position of the mass flowmeter cannot be installed. The vibration source cannot be installed near the equipment that generates strong magnetic fields such as transformers and motors to prevent external interference from affecting its normal operation.
2. The installation of the mass flowmeter does not require straight pipe sections, but the stress should be avoided when the sensor and the pipeline are connected. If the concentricity of the sensor and the pipeline centerline is deviated during the installation of the mass flowmeter, the vibration tube will be stressed. Stress can form pressure, tension, or shear force affecting the alignment of the pipe, causing the asymmetry of the detection probe, resulting in zero point variation, affecting measurement accuracy [3 , 4] . If the pipe and sensor concentricity deviation is too large, it may not be possible to adjust the zero point. Therefore, reinforcement measures should be taken to stabilize the pipeline near the instrument. When installing the flow sensor, the soft connection should be adopted as much as possible. The flange connection screws should be evenly and symmetrically tightened. To reduce the residual stress, the flow sensor should be installed after the flow sensor is installed. Zero calibration is performed. In order to facilitate the installation and zero adjustment of the mass flowmeter, a shut-off valve is also installed at the front end and the rear end of the mass flowmeter.
3. The connecting cable of the sensor and transmitter should use the manufacturer's special cable; the transmitter receives a low level signal, so the cable should not be too long. Ensure that the transmitter is installed in place to separate the intrinsically safe sensor cable from the power and output cables; ensure that the sensor junction box and transmitter housing are sealed to prevent short-circuiting and measurement errors or flowmeter failure.
4. According to the different properties of the fluid, choose different sensor installation orientations. Always keep the fluid in the sensor flow tube in a full state. The mass flow meter U -shaped tube of the gas feed measurement is facing upwards to avoid accumulation of condensate in the measuring tube; liquid feed measurement The mass flow meter U -shaped tube faces downward to avoid accumulation of gas in the measuring tube.
