Experts say that about 90% of people die from cancer because the disease has been transferred or spread. The researchers said they believe they can significantly reduce mortality and kill cancer cells. Surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy are often effective in treating people with solid tumors, but once cancer cells have spread and tiny tumors form elsewhere, the chances of a successful recovery are embarrassing.
Now, researchers at Cornell University in New York have isolated a protein that will implode when exposed to cancer cells. Biomedical engineers track the circulation of the immune system's white blood cells throughout the body and are ready to destroy (cancer cells). So now, in the blood flow, all of your white blood cells will become anti-cancer machines. Whenever they encounter a cancerous cell and circulate it, cancer cells die within a few hours.
In cancer cells, proteins complexly trigger apoptosis or cell suicide. Apoptosis can prevent uncontrolled growth of normal cells. In the initial experiment, researchers injected only 60% of the protein into saline but effectively killed cancer cells. The reason may be that there are no immune cells to lock the suicide protein.
In the subsequent experiments with mice, it was confirmed that the fluids basically pushed the cells together, so that cancer cells and white blood cells changed. Cancer also often spreads through the lymphatic system, transporting leukocytes containing colorless fluid throughout the body. Researchers are also developing a targeted treatment that can kill cancer cells and enter lymph fluids.
A paper describing the experimental treatment of cancer metastases was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
